Event held May 19, 2010
St. Cloud, MN: Park Industries hosted a ThinStone conference at their corporate offices for stone fabricators considering the move into thin veneer production. The conference brought together shops from across the United States and Canada for a one-day conference with machine demonstrations. Park Architectural Machinery Consultant, Mark Lindell presented information regarding the state of thin stone in the industry. Presentations from industry-leading suppliers included tips on blade selection, water management considerations, and packaging options for thin stone. A special feature of the conference was a presentation by a thin stone fabrication shop in the Southwest. This allowed attendees to have an opportunity to ask questions from a fabricator’s point of view. Plenty of time was allowed for hands-on demonstrations of splitting stone for veneer production along with several demonstrations using a Park ThinStone TXS-4500 machine to create flats and corner pieces. Call Park Industries at (800)328-2309 for more information.
