Case Study | Brenseke Welding

Brenseke Welding is an expansion of the family-owned Brenseke Welding & Fabricating. Mike Brenseke and George Brenseke Jr. have built upon the knowledge gained from watching the family business thrive and adding in their own artistic flair. Brenseke Welding takes a customized, innovative approach to satisfying their customers’ metal fabrication needs. Some of the design capabilities include bending, welding, shearing, and plasma cutting.

As business flourished, Brenseke Welding began outsourcing some of their metal cutting. Their suppliers were having trouble meeting their required lead times, so Brenseke determined it was time to expand their capabilities internally.

Brenseke staff attended FABTECH 2017 on a mission to select which process was best for them – waterjet cutting or CNC plasma cutting. While at the show, they made a point to talk to everyone offering those processes, and soon they realized plasma was a better fit.

The Stars and Stripes bursting across the back of the KANO HD CNC plasma cutting machine caught Mike Brenseke’s eye. Upon closer analysis, they zeroed in on the TracKlean self-cleaning table, unitized precision design, and ease of maintenance. Brenseke was initially searching for a smaller table to fit their small shop space, but with a little maneuvering the 6′ x 12′ table has found a spot in their shop. The larger cutting area has allowed Brenseke to leave remnants on the table, eliminating the need for loading and unloading full sheets for small jobs.

Max Steck, machine operator, is enthusiastic about the user-friendly interface of the KANO HD. He shares, “The ease of operation is excellent. We are able to take on jobs that we had to turn down previously, and a highly-skilled technical operator is not required.” The KANO HD plasma cutting machine has allowed Brenseke Welding to complete projects that would not have been possible without the addition of a CNC plasma cutting machine.

Mike Brenseke explains his enthusiasm for the newest addition to his business, “After researching many plasma tables on the market, we were excited about our decision to go with Park Industries. The capabilities of the Kano have given us the confidence to take on a more diverse range of jobs than we would have before. The easy communication we have with tech support when any issues arise makes operating our Kano stress-free so we can focus on building our business. We look forward to expanding even more and are constantly finding new ways to incorporate the machine into our daily operations.”

Brenseke Welding continues to produce creative projects, but at a higher volume and with increased efficiency. Max shares, “Park’s customer service has been beyond helpful and we couldn’t be happier with the KANO HD CNC Plasma Cutting Machine.”
