Removing X motor assembly for repair or replacement of Pinion Gear, Gearbox or Motor
Remove assembly from mounting
- Remove the green and orange cables on the X axis servo motor
- Lower the motor assembly out of the gear rack by loosening the 4 bolts
- Put the motor assembly on the work bench. Loosen 4 bolts holding the servo to the gearbox
- 6mm Hex Head Bolt – Torque to 33 ft/lbs
4. Locate the plastic plug and remove, turn the gear until you can see the hex head bolt in the hole
5. Remove the 8 bolts from the gear on the gearbox
6. Install the new gear, install the shoulder bolt first then the other bolts
- Reset the X axis gearbox assembly into the rack using a bottle jack underneath the gear and raise until it is snug, do this for both sides then tighten the 4 bolts on the mount plate.
- You need to reference the X axis in the FUSION software before you can set gear mesh see Service Guide 0167 Fusion X axis Gear Alignment
