First Machine

As an established fabrication company, when The Countertop Shop decided to start producing granite countertops, they wanted a saw from a leading manufacturer. Enter Park Industries®. From the start, The Countertop Shop was cutting slabs with Park Industries® machinery and they always have. Their first machine was a YUKON® Bridge Saw.

Soon after they added a DESTINY CNC Router. Mike Langenderfer recalls evaluating the different manufactures and shares why he chose Park,

“While I am happy they are American Made, that’s not the only reason I chose Park Industries®. After speaking with them and touring their facility, I was just left with the feeling that they would always be there to help…and they really have.”

Evolving Shop

Mike continued to add production and upgrades to their shop. They replaced their YUKON® with a FUSION® CNC Sawjet and started adding TITAN® CNC Routers. In 2019, they were ready to build a new facility. Mike called up his sales consultant, Dale Schleppenbach, who helped him layout a new building and how the flow/machinery would fit in it.

Eventually Mike was up to three TITAN® CNC Routers and upgraded his cutting station yet again, this time to the SABERjet™ XP.

SABERjet™ XP

In June of 2020, The Countertop Shop proudly installed a SABERjet™ XP 5-Axis CNC Sawjet.

Speed, power, mitering accuracy, and material optimization were all reasons Mike gave for why they chose it. As for how it’s working, Mike shares,

“We are very happy with the SABERjet™ XP. It miters extremely well, saving labor with the MiterJet feature. It just makes everything fit together so well. The machine is designed to cut any material well. Porcelain and Dekton, which use to cause issues in the shop, are now just another job. Swap the blade out and let’s go.”

TITAN® CNC Routers (x3)

The SABERjet™ XP is cutting slabs fast enough to utilize three TITAN® CNC Routers. Mike enjoys relying primarily on his CNC’s for polishing production.

He states, “We are extremely pleased with how the TITANs run. They help me maximize the business and take a lot of the guesswork out of finishing tops compared to hand fabrication. The consistency in the edges are great.”

Numbers Doubled

In their previous building, the Countertop Shop was producing about 300 sq ft a day. After moving to the new facility, upgrading their machinery, and other incremental improvements (like SpeedLabel®), Mike and his team have doubled their production. They are now producing 600 sq ft per day while also increasing their shop efficiency by relying on their Park Industries® CNC machinery.
