BALLAST TANK WATER LEVEL SENSOR

Guide Number: SG0846 | Printer Friendly Version | View Safety Disclaimer

If you are experiencing issues with dirty water affecting the functionality of the proximity sensor
that monitors the water level of the ballast tank, please follow the procedure below.

To remedy this, an adjustment can be made so that it stops the water before it gets to the
sensor, this should help keep mud from building up on the sensor.

You will need a small screwdriver to turn the potentiometer (clockwise) to increase the sensitivity of the sensor (this may take More than one revolution). Adjust it so that the yellow light turns off when the water is about ½ inch away from the end of the sensor

Next you will need to loosen the clamp on the water level adjustment assembly and raise the assembly up to set the water to the desired level. Then, raise and lower the water in the tank to confirm correct water level and functionality of the proximity sensor.

You can test the sensor by placing your finger on the tube about 1/2 inch away from the end of the sensor.
