Park Industries® Receives Training Grant

|

St. Cloud, Minnesota – Park Industries® and St. Cloud State University have earned a workforce development grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) this Spring.

This $350,000 grant from DEED, under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership, has been granted for Park to create and deliver customized training to every associate. The ability to provide this training will allow Park to maintain a competitive edge in the manufacturing industry and meet future demands.

The training that Park will acquire with this grant will assist in developing a skilled workforce with industry-leading knowledge. Park Industries is North America’s largest manufacturer of stone working equipment. With 300+ skilled associates and plans to add 60 more over the next three years, this grant turns Park’s possible plan into a reality. The training will allow the company to keep pace with its expansion and continue leading in the industry.

Park industries will partner closely with St. Cloud State and St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC) to deliver personalized training for all current and future associates. “Park Industries is delighted to continue our partnership with St. Cloud State and SCTCC in the development of our associates through the MJSP training grant,” said Kelly Hansen, Park Industries Vice President of Human Resources. “We are very invested in developing from within and the MJSP training grant will give us the opportunity to develop our talent, train new associates in skilled positions and attract youth and adult apprenticeships through training programs. We can’t wait to get started.”

The grants are part of $1.5 million in 10 workforce development grants awarded by DEED in March to train 2,919 workers under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership. Park Industries® and New Flyer will have a signing ceremony at St. Cloud State Welcome Center on May 14th at 3:00 PM.  VIEW CAREERS >
